What to Expect
Spread along the banks of Nile, Aswan was ancient Egypt’s gateway to Africa. Starting things with a guided visit to the magnificent temple of Edfu, its towering sandstone façade is bedecked with hieroglyphics of all sizes. It’s truly impressive.
After breaking for lunch to fuel up for an afternoon, you'll glide across Lake Nasser towards the impressive Philae Temple. One of the oldest temples in Egypt, it’s now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was painstakingly relocated brick by brick to make way for Aswan Dam.
The day will end with some shopping in the picturesque surroundings of Aswan. There’s a trip to the dam itself thrown in for good measure.
